Course Outline 

At A Level, students study the main approaches to psychology in order to gain an understanding and insight into human behaviour and thinking. In particular, students study the importance of nature (what you were born with) and nurture (how you were raised) in making people who they are and how they are. 

Content covered in Year 12: 

Unit 1: Introductory topics in psychology. 

Unit 2: Psychology in context. 

Assessment (A Level)

Unit 1: 2 hour written examination (33.3% of A Level) 

Unit 2: 2 hour written examination (33.3% of A Level) 

Unit 3: 2 hour written examination (33.3% of A Level)

Psychology offers students a unique insight into human behavior and thinking and thus provides students with highly regarded knowledge and skills for almost every profession. Students with this qualification can progress to a range of university courses, from Business and Accounting to Physiotherapy, Nursing or even Psychology itself.
