STUDENT LEADERSHIP
Student inclusion, involvement and leadership are central to the success of students at LBTS and we encourage all students to have a voice and take ownership of their school experience.
There are many opportunities provided for our students to take leadership roles and the focus of these is always to have an authentic voice that helps to improve the school experience for their peers, including shaping school policy and practice.

LBTS Student Ambassadors |
KS3 2 students per tutor group |
Students will represent their form and ensure that their year group needs are met. They will be able to decide what books they will read at tutor time. The Ambassadors will also make sure that their tutor group represents their year through the 3 values and will give feedback directly to their Achievement Coordinator (AC). Students discuss issues affecting themselves and their peers in the school. They also review the school's commitment to anti-racism and anti-sexism through scrutiny of: CURRICULUM STUDENT/TEACHER RELATIONSHIPS YEAR GROUP CONSIDERATIONS Students will also be able to participate in shaping our social advocacy agenda, as well as being trained in leading on peer to peer restorative justice meetings |
House Captains |
KS3 KS4 2 students per tutor group in years 7-11 |
House captains organise, promote and lead House events. |
Curriculum Consultants |
KS3 KS4 KS5 5–8 students per subject from years 7 - 13 |
Curriculum consultants meet subject teams once each half-term to review the curriculum and teaching within that subject. They also bring their subject books to our Senior Leadership Team meeting once a half-term for a joint booklook. |
Headteacher for a Day |
KS3 KS4 1 student each half-term |
1 student is “headteacher for a day” each half-term, where they work with Ms Chamberlain on key school issues, as well as visiting lessons and attending meetings. |
Prefects and PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT |
KS4 40 students |
Students who lead whole school areas (Education, Justice and Culture) and who report to the Assistant Headteacher for Community and Culture. The President and Vice President lead the Prefect Groups and form part of whole school leadership. |
LBTS6 Student Council |
KS5 |
The LBTS6 Student Council organises and facilitates a ‘Welcome To Year 12’ event, as well as arranging fundraising and team building events for the school throughout the year. The LBTS6 Student Council also supports the main school by working with students in years 7-11 through the student welfare programme. |
