Course Outline 

This course centres on different ways of reading and the connections that exist between texts within a literary genre. In this way, students gain a solid understanding of how texts can be connected and how they can be interpreted in multiple ways. We study a

 

Content covered in Year 12& Y13: 

Unit 1: Literary Genres. 

Unit 2: Aspects of Tragedy

Assessment (A Level):

Unit 1: 3-hour written exam (40% of A Level.) 

Unit 2: 2.5 hour written exam (40% of A Level). 

Unit 3: Coursework (20% of A Level).

This course is widely accepted as an entrance qualification to study English or any other Arts or Humanities subject at university. It is also a valuable qualification for a number of future careers, especially those in media and business.
