Course Outline

This course centres on different ways of reading and the connections that exist between texts within a literary genre. In this way, students gain a solid understanding of how texts can be connected and how they can be interpreted in multiple ways.

Content covered in Year 12:

  • Literary Genres
  • Aspects of Comedy

Assessment

Unit 1: 3 hour written exam (40% of A-level) 

Unit 2: 2.5 hour written exam (40% of A-level) 

Unit 3: Coursework (20% of A-level) 

Into the future ….

This course is widely accepted as an entrance qualification to study English or any other Arts or Humanities subject at university. It is also a valuable qualification for a number of future careers, especially those in media and business.
