Staff Wellbeing
At LBTS staff wellbeing is a core strategic priority that underpins our school culture. Our values — Be Kind, Be Your Best, Take Care of Our Community — apply just as much to staff as they do to students. We believe deeply that when our staff are well, supported and valued, our young people feel that too, which helps the whole school to thrive.
Our wellbeing offer is wide and meaningful. It encompasses both adapting and improving our systems to best support the wellbeing of our staff, as well as fostering a sense of collegiality and belonging through staff events. We run regular staff socials and ensure that wellbeing features in our staff training sessions too.
As a member of staff you will enjoy a number of benefits, including free annual flu jabs, eye tests, glasses allowance, onsite NHS health checks and seasonal wellbeing newsletters with health and wellness insights. In addition to these, all staff have access to discounted London Bike Hire, Blue Light Card, the Cycle to Work Scheme benefit and even a quality coffee in our staffroom through our monthly coffee subscription!
To ensure we actively support our staff in their work-life balance, staff are offered one wellbeing early finish at 1pm each half term and can apply for flexible working opportunities. During “pinch” periods of work we offer staff the ability to work from home too. In addition to this, we have protected CPD time and teaching staff benefit from a generous 20% of PPA time on their timetable.
We continually review our provision through staff voice, feedback and impact. Staff are not only the heart of our school, they actively shape the emotional climate that our students experience every day.
