Maxwell, a senior librarian, has been not only reading avidly for a while but also writing. This paid off with his entry for the Wimbledon BookFest Short story writing competition in summer 2025 winning the judges’ prize of distinction and beating off 500 other entries to make it into the published Anthology, a copy of which he gets to keep and another available from the library.
