Lilian Baylis students did the school and Greenhouse Sports proud at the recent regional Jr. NBA 3v3 Basketball Tournament, showing outstanding teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
The boys’ team faced a tough challenge, competing in a highly competitive group at an older age bracket. Despite the odds, they gave a strong account of themselves and showed real promise for the future.
The spotlight, however, was on the Lilian Baylis girls’ team, who delivered an incredible performance. They went undefeated through the group stage, breezed through the semi-finals, and reached the final where they faced Westminster Academy—another talented Greenhouse Sports programme.
The final was a nail-biting encounter, ending in a tie as the buzzer sounded. In overtime, the Lilian Baylis girls dug deep, showing incredible resilience and unity to claim a well-deserved victory.
Their triumph means they have now qualified for the Jr. NBA Grand Final, set to take place on 6th June at Trafalgar Square—where they’ll compete as one of the top 5 teams out of an original 315 entries.
