The Art Department has been chosen to be part of The Arts Council Collection Take Two programme. The Arts Council lend two artworks by famous Artists from their collection to hang in schools for two years.
Our first Artwork is by Michael Armitage ‘Ol Ngoroi Rock’(2020)Michael Armitage a Kenyan-born artist who works between Nairobi and London. His colourful, dreamlike paintings are loaded with provocative perspectives that play with visual narratives and challenge cultural assumptions, exploring politics, history, civil unrest and sexuality.
Our second Artwork is by Joe Tilson ‘Freeway 2’ -(1965) is a British artist and fellow of the Royal Academy. He was involved in the Pop Art movement in the 1960s; he has made paintings, prints and constructions
Students looked at these artists and created work inspired from them. Lilian Baylis Students and Staff collaborated with the Art Council to create a video on the wonderful experience of Take Two.
