CURRICULUM COMPLAINTS POLICY

Carers/Parents should use this complaints procedure if they believe that either the LA or school Governing Body is failing to:

  • Provide access to the National Curriculum, including Religious Education and Collective Worship and its assessment for a particular pupil in the school
  • Follow the law on charging for school activities
  • Offer only approved qualifications or syllabuses
  • Provide religious education and collective worship
  • Provide the information to parents about the curriculum
  • Carry out any other statutory duty relating to the curriculum

COMPLAINTS POLICY

Concerns should be raised with either the class teacher or Headteacher. If the issue remains unsolved, the next step is to make a formal complaint.

  • Complaints should not approach individual governors to raise concerns or complaints. They have no power to act on an individual basis and it may also prevent them from considering complaints at Stage 2 of the procedure.
  • Complaints against school staff (except the Headteacher) should be made in the first instance, to the Headteacher via the school office. Please mark them as Private and Confidential.
  • Complaints that involve or are about the Headteacher should be addressed to Katie Donkor (the Chair of Governors), via the school office. Please mark them as Private and Confidential.
  • Complaints about the Chair of Governors, any individual governor or the whole governing body should be addressed to the Clerk to the Governing Body via the school office. Please mark them as Private and Confidential.
  • Complaints from parents/carers of SEND students follow the normal arrangements for the treatment of complaints.  In the first instance we encourage parents to discuss any concerns they may have regarding provision for their student with special educational needs and/or disability with the SENCo. If your concerns are not dealt with satisfactorily, you can then contact the Headteacher, who may direct you to the school’s Complaints Policy if unable to resolve the complaint.
