School Meals

  • You qualify for free school meals for your children if you receive Income Support or Job Seeker's Allowance from the Department of Social Security, or if you or your children are refugees or asylum seekers
  • You must apply for free school meals every twelve months
  • You can get an application form for free school meals for your child from the general office or download a PDF version from here
  • When you have completed this form, please return it, together with photocopied proof of your DSS benefits, to the general office; a photocopy of the first three pages of your benefits book is usually sufficient proof of entitlement.

Food in the school

  • We take great pride in our healthy, nourishing school meals. A range of healthy, low-fat, low-salt snacks and meals is always available. We do not, and never will, serve 'junk food'.
  • Food may only be eaten in the school canteen. We expect packed lunches to be ' 'healthy'. If they are not we will provide you with guidance
  • Students are not allowed out at lunch time or break time under any circumstances
  • Lunch time arrangements for students on free meals are exactly the same as those for students who pay for a school lunch.
  • Students can bringhealthy snacks and drinks to school. They should not bring sweets, biscuits and sugary snacks to school.
