ARTSMARK GOLD
Awarded 2002, 2005 and 2009

Artsmark Gold is a highly prestigious award given to schools which offer an exceptional range of opportunities in art, dance, drama and music. The assessor stated 'the range of opportunities to work with leading arts organisations is exceptional.'
BBC NEWS SCHOOLS REPORT

BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY SIEFF AWARD
Awarded 2006

The Business in the Community Sieff Award is awarded each year for outstanding collaboration with business. LBTS was given the award for the ‘hard work and commitment of LBTS to working with local, national and global businesses to support learning’.
CISCO
Awarded every year since 2004

CISCO grant a few schools the right to teach students the highly prestigious CISCO Networking Academy qualifications. LBTS has been granted the status to do this and this means that our students can study these industry standard qualifications as part of their GCSE ICT courses.
CITIZEN SCHOOL
Awarded 2009

Citizen Schools is an alliance of 50 schools who are working together as active citizens with their communities to bring about change. LBTS is proud to have been selected for this programme which is the same citizenship programme Barack Obama followed as a high school student.
CONSISTENCY MANAGEMENT AND COOPERATIVE DISCIPLINE (CMCD)
Awarded since 2005

CMCD is the only programme that promotes a positive behaviour that has been proven to work through academic research. All of the staff and students have been trained in its use and it includes strategies such as, go-around cup, vine of human kindness, classroom managers and caught-doing-the-right-thing slips.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT STANDARD IN SCHOOLS (FMSIS)
Awarded 2006 and 2009

This national standard is awarded to schools who can demonstrate their financial procedures meet all of the requirements that would be required of a business. On both occasions it was only awarded after a very thorough audit.
ICT MARK
Awarded 2007

This is a national award given to schools that use ICT to a very high standard to raise achievement. The assessor noted ‘the high quality ICT is used in a wide range of innovative ways to raise achievement.’
ICT REGISTER
Registered since 2004

The ICT Register is a register of the leading schools for the use of ICT. LBTS is often contacted by other schools, through the ICT Register, for advice and support on the use of ICT.
INVESTORS IN CAREERS
Awarded 2005 and 2009

This national award recognises the work the school does to support students consider their future career. The report stated 'there is a clear commitment through an innovative approach to careers education and guidance, to motivate pupils to achieve their career goals.'
INVESTORS IN PEOPLE
Awarded in 2002, 2005 and 2008

This national award recognises the work the school does to develop its staff so they can best meet the aim of the school which is to 'transform the life chances of all students'. The 2009 report noted the 'passion that staff at LBTS have for increasing the life opportunities available to its students’
KIDS COMPANY PARTNER SCHOOL
Awarded every year since 2002

Kids Company is a charity that supports children in crisis. LBTS is proud to be partnered with Kids Company and to have a team of their workers based in the school.
LONDON SOUTH BANK UNIVERSITY (LSBU)
Awarded 2007

LBTS was very honoured to be granted honorary fellowship of LSBU in recognition of ‘the remarkable turnaround in the last few years.’
NATIONAL SUPPORT SCHOOL/NATIONAL LEADER OF EDUCATION (NSS/NLE)
Awarded 2009

NSS/NLE status is granted by the National College for Leadership of Schools to those schools that are considered good enough to support schools in challenging circumstances. LBTS is proud to be the only NSS/NLE in Lambeth and one of only 143 secondary schools in England to be granted this status.
NATIONAL TEACHING AWARDS
Awarded 2004

The Leadership in a Secondary School award was given to Andrew Marsh for his outstanding work to create and lead the inclusion team at LBTS. Andrew retired in 2009 but the team he created continues to go from strength to strength.
SCHOOL OSCAR
Awarded 2005 and 2008

The Government awards a school 'Oscar' to the most improved secondary school in each Council each year. LBTS is proud to have won this award twice.
SPECIALIST SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES TRUST VALUE ADDED CLUB
Awarded 2009

LBTS was given this award because students at LBTS make more progress than students in most other schools. Value added measures the progress a student makes from Y6 SATs to Y11 GCSEs.
SPORTSMARK
Awarded every year since 2004

This is a national award given to school that ensure all students complete 2hrs of PE per week and can attend a wide range of extra curricular sports clubs.
WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGISTS (WCIT) PARTNER SCHOOL
Awarded 2003, Renewed 2008.

WCIT is one of the City of London livery companies and is made up of 800 senior ICT professionals. WCIT supports LBTS through in kind funding, a number of WCIT sponsor governors and a number of innovative careers events.
