Students require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above (or equivalent), including English, and Mathematics.
A Level Computing provides students with a broad technical knowledge and the ability to write their own programs and software in the Java Programming Language – one of the most popular languages used in industry today. At AS students study 2 units which enable them to explore the fundamental principles of Computing.
AS level Units:
Unit 1: Problem Solving, Programming, Data Representation and Data Structure
Unit 2: Computer systems and architecture
Assessment (AS Level):
Unit 1: 2 hour on-screen examination
Unit 2: 1 hour written examination
