Religious Studies

Lilian Baylis Technology School has no affiliation to any religion but encourages understanding of, and respect for, all faiths and ethical beliefs. We encourage our students to be respectful and tolerant of all religions and beliefs and this is taught through RS and other subjects when a good opportunity arises. This is part of our support for the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.

Any parent has the right to withdraw their son / daughter from all or part of the religious education and collective worship provided by the school. This must be done formally in writing to the Headteacher. Alternative arrangements will be made under such circumstances and consist of supervised independent study in the library

At lunchtime multifaith reflection rooms are also provided for our students and supervised by staff. They are for individual reflection.
