At Lilian Baylis Technology School we constantly review the curriculum in order to ensure that our students have access to the most relevant courses available. We have recently introduced Y7 and Y8 numeracy catch up, A lelevel Art and GCSE Computer Science.
At the start of each academic year every parent is issued with a curriculum plan booklet outlining the curriculum their child will be following. KEY STAGE 3
All students follow the National Curriculum in:
Citizenship and Personal Social and Health Education
Design Technology including Cooking
All students can also opt for individual or group instrumental lessons at no charge. Students can also choose to study Arabic, French, Mandarin, and Portuguese at KS3.
KEY STAGE 4
All students follow a common curriculum in:
GCSE English and GCSE English Literature
GCSE Double Science (2 GCSEs) or GCSE Separate Sciences in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (3 GCSEs)
Citizenship, Personal, Social & Health Education, Physical Education and Religious Studies
In addition to these compulsory subjects students can choose up to 5 of the following option subjects. The school usually offers:
GCSE Computer Science
GCSE Design Technology: Product Design
GCSE Design Technology: Food
GCSE Religious Studies
BTEC Performing Arts
The school also arranges for students to take a GCSE in any additional language with which they are familiar, including Arabic, French, Bengali, German, Mandarin, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Urdu. Students are provided with support and tuition.
